Like the other "unfinished" stories from Tolkien, this one suffers from un-connectedness and inconsistencies between story lines. However since the story itself is marvelous and really a masterpiece (like Silmarillion), this can be forgiven. It's not THAT disrupting to ruin your good feeling from this book.
